Savion Glover

February 2015

Tony Award-winning tap dancer

Savion Glover is a Tony Award-winning tap dancer, choreographer, producer and living tap legend.  His many illustrious credits include the Broadway shows:  The Tap Dance Kid, Black and Blue, and Bring in ‘da Noise, Bring in ‘da Funk.  His films include Tap with Gregory Hines and Sammy Davis Jr. and Bamboozled by Spike Lee.

Younger audiences may know his choreography from the Academy Award-winning movie, Happy Feet.  He also teaches the art form of tap dancing to future generations at the The HooFeRz Club School for Tap which he founded, in Newark, NJ.

We are sure that the children of Port Salerno Elementary will be dazzled by his “…magical, unstoppable feet,” as described by The New York Times.  Mr. Glover will be the Artist-in-Residence for the day at PSE.

Below is a sample of Mr. Glover’s work.

This event is not open to the public.
